Preparing for your surgery
If you are over the age of 30 I may recommend that you
have a mammogram (breast x-ray) before surgery. I will give you specific
instructions on how to prepare for surgery, including guidelines on eating
and drinking, stopping smoking and taking or avoiding certain vitamins
and medications.
Breast reduction rarely requires a blood transfusion.
If your blood count is low you should take iron supplements before and
after surgery.
While you're making preparations, be sure to arrange
for someone to drive you home after your surgery and to help you out for
a few days if needed.
