After the operation
You should rest and keep as quiet as possible. You will
be offered sedation if you need it. However, it is surprising how little
pain you will have after this procedure. Whether you decide on day stay
or over night, you must have a support person to drive you home and preferably
to stay with you once you are at home, at least for a couple of days.
If the nasal bones are repositioned there is always
bruising and some swelling of the lower eyelids. Sometimes the bruising
can be severe. Drugs can be given at the time of surgery to reduce this.
Most of the swelling will go down within 48 hours of the operation.
Your first post-operative appointment will be five days
after the procedure.
You will be given very comprehensive pre and post operative
instructions and I or my staff are available to talk to you should you
have any concerns.
